Health setbacks that have kept me out of the water for long periods of time :

2015- experienced my second brain bleed which resulted in vision loss in my left peripheral vision .

2016- had a seizure while sleeping . This kept me out of the water for 6 months and could not drive for a year.

2017- developed a vestibular disorder that effects my balance . Most of my symptoms have cleared up except one . Everyday for the past five years every time I walk I feel like the ground is floating below me.

2020- I had a hysterectomy because I had cysts in my ovaries and stage 4 endometriosis.

2021- experienced my third brain bleed . This took me a full year to recover from.

I share this information not for pity, but to inspire others to never give up on their love of surfing . If I can get back in the water after everyone of these setbacks SO CAN YOU !

Yes, you ! That’s right I am talking to you ! Maybe your sitting in a hospital bed right now , or lying on the couch feeling your worst or maybe you’re reading this on your lunch break just struggling to get through the day . This post is for YOU !

And if this is not your struggle please share with others who need the encouragement!!!
